Zebra 2844 Firmware

When using ShipRush for USPS printing with a Zebra LP2844 printer, the 2D "Datamatrix" bar code may not print. This is a crucial issue, as this bar code is the postage stamp!

Note: For questions and technical support related to LP2844 printers and the Datamatrix bar code, please contact Zebra technical support at (877)275-9327. Z-Firm support is not able to assist with printer internals.

Resolution:

There are two paths to solve this issue:

1) Upgrade the "firmware" in the LP2844 printer. (Steps are below.)

2) Replace the printer with a ZP450 or other model which have Datamatrix built in. The ZP450 is typically $200 or less when purchased new.

Upgrading the LP2844 Firmware

These steps apply only to the Zebra LP2844. If other printer models have problems with the Datamatrix bar code, please contact Zebra technical support. Note that older models (like the 2542 and all 25xx models) do not offer Datamatrix and cannot be used with ShipRush Endicia.

These steps are technical, but any power user or competent PC Technician should be able to assist.

This problem is in the Zebra printer, not in ShipRush. If support is needed, please contact Zebra technical support at (877)275-9327

The steps below are provided as an FYI and are not supported by ShipRush Support.
